I really LOVE my job
💜 To be able to help someone become pain free and go for walks, after not being able to for so long.... To be able to help someone change their eating habits and steadily lose weight, without them even really having to try.... To be able to help a 60 a day smoker, simply stop smoking, just like that... To be able to help someone vastly reduce their habitual alcohol consumption, after just one session... To know that I can help my clients make massive TRANSFORMATIONS in their lives, using hypnotherapy, makes my heart sing. This is why I do what I do... Because I might not be able to change the whole world, but I can make a difference in the lives of those that I do work with 💜

One common issue that a lot of my clients face is snacking between or after meals.
So I have put together some practical tips that you can try, to help you overcome the urge to eat when you aren't actually hungry. When you find yourself raiding the fridge or the cupboards... When you catch yourself with your hand on the biscuit box... When you are contemplating having a snack, even though you ate a meal not that long ago.... STOP! 🛑 And ask yourself a few quick questions... Could you actually be thirsty? (Hunger and thirst symptoms can manifest in very similar ways) Are you bored? (Eating just for something to do is a sure fire way of consuming far more calories than you actually need) Are you tired? (When we are over-tired, the same hunger-sparking hormones are produced, meaning you will feel hungry, even though you do not actually need the calories) Are you feeling emotionally low? (Comfort eating is a very destructive cycle to get caught up in - you can read about that cycle on one of my previous posts) By working through these options, you can make a more educated decision on whether what you are experiencing is genuine hunger or if you are trying to mask something else. This may sound fairly simple, but by taking a few minutes to check in with yourself and how you are thinking/feeling, you can consciously start making healthier choices. Of course, you can make this whole process a lot quicker and easier by using hypnotherapy to change your unhealthy habits and address your emotional issues. So if you find yourself mindlessly snacking, give this process a try and use some of the tips below. If you would like to find out more about how hypnotherapy can aid you in getting more rapid, long lasting results, send me a message. Your Emotions
Your Habits Your Behaviours Your Beliefs.... These four things need to change, if you want to get different results from those you have got so far. The things you THINK, the way you FEEL and the things you DO will determine your results. If you think that losing weight is hard... If you feel that you aren't good enough... If you eat unhealthy foods on a regular basis... THEN THAT WILL BE YOUR REALITY. However, if you are open minded enough to accept that in fact weight loss could be easy and effortless and you feel confident and motivated and you choose healthy foods and exercise on a regular basis... THAT WILL BE YOUR REALITY Hypnotherapy works with the subconscious mind and it's no coincidence that it is highly effective in helping people to eat right and lose weight because it is also the part of the mind that controls emotions, habits, behaviours and beliefs! Using Hypnotherapy we can change the way you think and feel about food. We can boost your confidence and motivation to exercise. We can also remove your desire for unhealthy foods, as simply as flicking a switch off in your brain. If you have tried all the fad diets going and still haven't got the results you are wanting, send me a message and we can explore your situation and find out if Hypnotherapy would be a good fit for you. 💜 Let me explain how the cycle tends to occur…
It is initially triggered by a SITUATION/EVENT, let’s use the breakup of a relationship as an example. So as soon as the event happens, your brain will start churning out THOUGHTS. Quite often, these thoughts will be of a negative nature… “It’s all my fault”, “I’m not good enough”, “If only I was thinner/prettier/more attentive”, “I’m never gonna find someone else”, “My life is over” etc. These negative thoughts, then create negative FEELINGS/EMOTIONS. When you are feeling sad/stressed/depressed/angry, this influences your BEHAVIOUR, meaning you tend to turn to food for comfort, in the hopes that it will somehow fill the void that your partner left. This usually entails opting for unhealthy, high calorie foods and lots of them. Once you have binged on your comfort food, you may very well feel some TEMPORARY RELIEF from your negative thoughts and feelings… But we all know, that those feelings of comfort, never last for long and soon create NEW NEGATIVE THOUGHTS such as “OMG Why did I do that?” “That’s my diet blown for another week so I might as well just finish the packet”, “I’m so stupid”, “I’m never gonna get to my ideal weight at this rate”, “No wonder he left me”, “I have no control” etc etc. Obviously, as we have already said, your thoughts dictate your emotions, so you feel more NEW NEGATIVE FEELINGS, which then lead you back to raiding the fridge and the cupboards and bingeing on junk because you feel lousy. And thus the cycle has been formed and you are stuck. HOWEVER, I can help you to CUT THE LINK that you have between situations that occur in your life and the need to eat to cope with them. I can help you to BREAK THE CYCLE. We can work together to equip you with tools and techniques that help you manage these difficult situations and events that happen, in a more healthy way, that doesn’t involve eating. We can also CHANGE YOUR THOUGHTS about yourself, your eating habits and your situations, so that the resulting emotions and behaviours are also much more positive and healthy. This cycle isn’t just about comfort eating, it can be applied to many issues. If you can resonate with this cycle in any way, and you would like to find out more about how hypnotherapy can indeed help you to break the cycle that you are stuck in, then send me a message and let’s chat. “ONCE I’VE LOST WEIGHT, I’LL BE HAPPY”
“ONCE I’VE LOST WEIGHT, I’LL BE MORE CONFIDENT” I hear these statements a lot. If you have said or thought these things lately, let me ask you a few questions… Why are you waiting until you’ve lost weight to be happy or confident? Why are you placing conditions on your happiness? Do you realise that through my line of work I have met a wide variety of people… Some who are drastically underweight, some who are at their ideal weight and some who are very overweight and you know what, NONE of them were happy! They ALL had issues with their bodies that made them dislike themselves. Once I helped them work through their problems and helped them to LOVE their bodies, regardless of their shape and size, they realised that happiness is a state of mind… it is a choice. You don’t just suddenly become happy when you reach a certain weight. Being happy has nothing to do with your weight or your size. HAPPINESS IS AN INSIDE JOB Is Your Diet Healthy Enough?
Everyone wants to eat a healthier diet, but it can sometimes be difficult to know if your diet is healthy enough. There are a number of factors that go into creating a healthy diet, and it is important to evaluate the current state of your diet before embarking on a plan for healthier eating. There are several questions you should ask yourself when evaluating the healthiness (or lack thereof) of your current eating plan. These questions include: Does Your Diet Include a Variety of Foods? Variety is one of the most important hallmarks of a healthy diet, since no one food contains all the nutrients needed by the human body. It is important to eat foods from all the major food groups, including grains and breads, fruits and vegetables, milk and dairy products, meats, beans and nuts. If you find yourself avoiding some food groups, such as vegetables for instance, it may be time to look for a healthier diet. Are Cereals, Breads and other Grain Products Included in my Diet? Eating a wide variety of grain based products is important to a healthy diet. Grains and cereals contain a large number of important nutrients, including high levels of dietary fibre. It is important to choose whole grain products as often as possible, since whole grain products like wheat bread contain more nutrients than more refined white bread and similar products. When eating cereal, it is a good idea to choose whole grain varieties, or those that are enriched with vitamins and minerals. Do I Include Several Different Fruits and Veggies in my Diet? Many people don't eat sufficient servings of fruits and vegetables every day. Most experts recommend eating between 5 and 9 servings of fruits and vegetables every day, roughly equivalent to 2 cups of fruit and 2 ½ cups of vegetables. When shopping for vegetables and fruits, it is important to choose a good variety of dark green, dark red, orange and yellow varieties. That is because different coloured fruits and vegetables contain a variety of different nutrients, including vitamin C, vitamin A and beta carotene. Is a Healthy Breakfast included in my Diet? Breakfast, or the absence of it, is often a good indicator of the state of your diet. If you rush out of the house every morning and grab a donut at the local convenience store, chances are your diet can use some work. Do I Watch my Unhealthy Fats Intake? This is also an important question to ask yourself. Low fat alternatives are available for a variety of products, including milk, cheese, meats and more. One part of following a healthy, low fat diet is avoiding prepared foods whenever possible, since prepared foods tend to have higher amounts of fat and sodium than fresh foods. It is also important to control the amount of fat that is added at the table. Adding things like butter, sour cream and heavy sauces is a sure way to ruin an otherwise healthy meal. Even healthy foods like salads can be sabotaged by the addition of high fat salad dressings. Try using lower fat alternatives like flavored vinegars instead. Am I Drinking Plenty of Water? Drinking plenty of fresh, pure water is important to maintaining a healthy body and a healthy lifestyle. Water is important to maintaining optimal levels of health. If you think you need more water, try substituting water for less healthy beverages like soda and coffee, OR ask me about my FREE water challenge! Am I Maintaining my Optimal Body Weight? Gaining weight without trying to is often a sign of a poor diet. Following a healthy diet, and getting plenty of regular exercise, is important when it come to losing weight and keeping it off. Do I limit the amount of salt, sugar, alcohol and caffeine in my diet? While all of these elements are fine in moderation, excessive amounts of any of these four can indicate a serious problem with your diet. It is important to limit the amount of unhealthy elements in any diet. HYPNOTHERAPY CAN MAKE ALL THESE CHANGES SO MUCH EASIER! If you can't stop snacking between meals, or you need help with portion control.... Perhaps you wish you could reduce your appetite so you don't feel hungry all the time and would love to feel satisfied on smaller amounts of food.... Maybe you want to take the leap and cut out caffeine completely, without any yucky side effects or withdrawal. Whatever the issues, send me a message as I am confident I will be able to help. So many of my clients come to me saying that they have struggled to lose weight for years, despite having tried a ton of different diets and they feel like there must be something wrong with them.
It is NOT your fault. There is NOTHING wrong with you! The mistake people often make is thinking that willpower alone is enough. Willpower is misunderstood. It’s like a bolt of inspiration… A burst of energy…. A kick up the butt of motivation to go and do something… BUT if that choice/action isn’t backed up with something that is going to help and support you and keep you motivated, that willpower will quickly fade, leaving you back at square one. To be successful and reach your goal, you need to take action. You can do that in two ways. You can do it consciously, which means consistently repeating things day in, day out, pushing yourself and motivating yourself, even when you don’t feel like doing things, keeping food diaries, making meals plans, counting calories, being mindful of every single thing you put in your mouth and generally being really strict with yourself…. OR you can do it SUBconsciously, where habits can be changed/formed almost immediately so your new healthier behaviours become second nature with minimal effort. You can boost your motivation levels so you actually WANT to exercise. You can just stop snacking and not even miss it. You can change the way you think and feel about food and about yourself. You don’t need to struggle or feel deprived. You can lose weight without even really trying. Which action sounds more appealing to you? If you are ready to stop struggling and you start doing things the easy way, send me a message. I have a limited number of places available for one to one clients that want to jump in and take action! This is Alan, he’s 45 and CEO of his own business.
He is earning a handsome wage and as far as his family and friends are concerned, he is ridiculously successful and fairly wealthy to boot! What could he possibly have to complain about? Whilst he is indeed successful and wealthy, he isn’t overly happy in his personal life. He is often the butt of his friends’ jokes. He is a good sport and tries to take it on the chin, knowing that they mean no harm. He even joins in and cracks jokes about his beer belly being “all bought and paid for”, but that’s more of a defense mechanism than anything else. He’s sick of being the “fat friend”. It’s no fun and doesn’t do his self-esteem or confidence much good either. Once upon a time, before his business took up so much of his time, Alan used to be quite active, now he can’t climb the stairs without breaking a sweat. He misses playing football with the lads of a weekend and wishes he had the time, energy and motivation to go to the gym every day. He can’t even keep up with his kids when he takes them to the park. Alan knows his health is suffering. His GP has already warned him that his blood pressure is up and he needs to start making changes, before he ends up with Type 2 Diabetes and puts himself at further risk of strokes or heart problems. Sometimes he lays awake at night, unable to sleep and gazes lovingly at his wife sleeping next to him and then the doubts and fears creep in. "What if she doesn’t find me attractive anymore?” He convinces himself that his wife would be far happier with a younger, fitter model. Alan has strained relationships with his friends and a strained relationship with his wife. He knows that something needs to change. He can’t keep living like this. He wants to see his kids grow up and have kids of their own! He is ready to take action. He is ready to find himself a coach. If Alan's story resonates with you and you also feel ready to take action and make a change, then send me a PM and let's chat. This is Angela, she’s 40, she’s a business owner and she makes good money. To the outside world, she is confident and successful and doing really well in life.
But on the inside, it’s a completely different story. She’s not as confident as people think she is. She struggles to lose weight. Her head is filled with negative thoughts of never being able to reach her ideal weight. Feelings of guilt and shame because she binges late at night when no one else is around to see her. She can’t seem to stop snacking. She desperately wants to lose weight. She wishes that she could go clothes shopping at normal high street shops instead of plus size shops online. She wishes her clothes didn’t dig in and that they fitted better. She feels that she has to put on a brave face when she goes to work and a brave face for when she is with her family. She wears that smile so that everyone else thinks she is ok, but internally she is feeling really low. She feels like she has tried all of the different diets out there. She’s been to slimming groups in the past. She definitely doesn’t want to join ANOTHER group. She wishes there was someone that she could work with one to one, that could help her to get back on track, someone that could just make things EASIER for her. Something that she could do that would actually get her FASTER results, results THAT LAST, not something that stops working after a short while. She doesn’t want to lose weight, just to put it all back on again. She doesn’t want to have to depend on pills and shakes and she doesn’t want to feel hungry all the time. She’s sick of feeling constantly deprived and like she’s having to go without. She wants to feel more in control of her eating. She wants to find another way of dealing with her emotions. She doesn’t understand WHY she always reaches for food when she is stressed or upset. She is tired of feeling like a failure. She is tired of having to put on that brave face. She is ready to take action. If you can relate to Angela, send me a PM or comment below. How many of you have found that whilst you have been at home, you have started to grow veggies?
Or maybe flowers are more your thing and you have planted things simply to make your garden look pretty. What is key when you are growing things to keep them healthy and thriving? To ensure the best chances of success, you need to prepare the soil into which you will be planting your seeds and you need to be gentle with seedlings as they first appear as they are very delicate. You need to know how much water to give them and when it is best to give it to them – not too much, not too little. You also need to feed them with the right nutrients to help them develop, at the appropriate stages in their life. You need to tend to them and make sure that they are not being pestered or overtaken by weeds. You need to regularly check them for infections and any signs of pests. You need to ensure they are getting the right amount of sunlight, as this is vital for growth. Many successful gardeners even speak to their seedlings and show them love, speaking kind words to encourage their growth. You also need to make sure that your plants are protected from the elements (Too much wind, rain, frost etc) This could quite easily be said for ourselves too. We need to take care of our bodies to ensure WE thrive. We need to be gentle with ourselves. (We do need to move and be active, but it is important for our physical bodies that we don’t overdo it.) We need the right amount of water. (Hydration is incredibly important.) We need to make sure we are free of infections. (We need to take care of our physical health and treat anything that may be causing us discomfort.) We need the right amount of sun. (Vitamin D supports many functions of the body. When our skin is exposed to the sun, it makes vitamin D from cholesterol. It also instructs the cells in our gut to absorb calcium and phosphorus, essential for healthy bones. It also helps fight depression and muscle weakness, amongst other things.) We need to speak kindly to ourselves and show ourselves some tender loving care. (Replacing the negative voices in our heads, with positive and caring voices, will help to boost our mental health.) We too need the right kind of environment to live in and need shelter from the weather. You see, we aren’t really that different from the veggies we are growing in our gardens! Our basic needs are very similar. If you need help with any of these steps, then please do reach out to me. Send me a PM and I can let you know how my new weight loss program may be able to help you. My program isn’t just designed to help you drop the excess weight, it is designed to help you address many areas of your life, to ensure you are living in a healthy manner and to give you the very best chance of transformation at many levels. (Image is of one of the many potato plants that I am currently growing in my own garden at the moment!) Wouldn't it be great if one day you woke up and you actually CRAVED it?! It’s 10pm… You have eaten pretty well throughout the day. You aren’t REALLY hungry, but you just “fancy” something.
Then you hear it, out of nowhere… That bar of chocolate that you stashed at the back of the cupboard last week – for emergency use only. It’s calling your name. You ignore it for a while, telling yourself that you don’t need it; You don’t want it, honestly. You resist and tell yourself to be strong, but the calling gets louder and the temptation gets stronger. Eventually chocolate is the only thing you can think about and the yearning just gets too much. Your mouth is watering just thinking about it. You find yourself in the kitchen, rummaging through the cupboard, until you spot it, that shiny gold wrapper, catching the light and twinkling at you. You tell yourself “I’ll just have a couple of squares”, as you walk back to the sofa, chocolate in hand. The smell of the chocolate filling your nostrils as you open the wrapper… The taste of it as it slowly melts in your mouth. Such sweet sugary bliss. Before you know it, you have eaten the lot. Sound familiar? If your late night snacking is getting a little out of hand and you find food mysteriously disappearing in your presence, then give me a shout! Maybe it's time to make some longer term changes. What if you actually ENJOYED moving your body? Fear not! There is a solution! If you decide that you want to start drinking more water each day, or you want to practice yoga each day, or you want to start taking a multivitamin each day, you have to consciously make the effort to carry out that action, over and over again, day in, day out, repeatedly, until that habit finally takes hold and becomes a part of your daily routine, without you really having to think about it.
To form a new habit this way, for some people, can actually take months of being consciously consistent and not missing days here and there and quite often, despite starting out with the very best of intentions, people give up before the habit is firmly formed and so they don’t see the desired result. However, there is an easier way, a short cut if you will – Hypnotherapy. If you use hypnotherapy to support your habit forming, you will see results in a fraction of the time and your new behaviours (drinking more water, doing yoga, taking vitamins etc) will become second nature much more easily. This is because the subconscious is the part of your mind that directly deals with habits and behaviours, so if you go straight to source to make the changes, it makes sense that you will get quicker results. Consider your conscious mind, the middle-man – why add extra steps in to a process and make things more difficult for yourself when you really don’t need to? Hypnotherapy can support you in breaking old habits and forming new ones. Your conscious mind still plays a part in the process. Every time that you are tempted by something, or consider not doing something, or find yourself making excuses, that is your subconscious’ way of giving you the opportunity to affirm to yourself “yes, I want that” or “no, I don’t” and every time you consciously make that decision, in favour of the new habit you are working to form, it reinforces your mental resolve to achieve your goal, making your desire to attain it stronger and the effects of the hypnotherapy are also magnified. Do you have habits you wish you didn’t have? Do you want to form some new and healthier habits? Get in touch or join my live webinar to find out more about how amazing hypnotherapy is and how it can help you! |
