This is Angela, she’s 40, she’s a business owner and she makes good money. To the outside world, she is confident and successful and doing really well in life.
But on the inside, it’s a completely different story. She’s not as confident as people think she is. She struggles to lose weight. Her head is filled with negative thoughts of never being able to reach her ideal weight. Feelings of guilt and shame because she binges late at night when no one else is around to see her. She can’t seem to stop snacking.
She desperately wants to lose weight. She wishes that she could go clothes shopping at normal high street shops instead of plus size shops online. She wishes her clothes didn’t dig in and that they fitted better. She feels that she has to put on a brave face when she goes to work and a brave face for when she is with her family. She wears that smile so that everyone else thinks she is ok, but internally she is feeling really low.
She feels like she has tried all of the different diets out there. She’s been to slimming groups in the past. She definitely doesn’t want to join ANOTHER group. She wishes there was someone that she could work with one to one, that could help her to get back on track, someone that could just make things EASIER for her. Something that she could do that would actually get her FASTER results, results THAT LAST, not something that stops working after a short while. She doesn’t want to lose weight, just to put it all back on again.
She doesn’t want to have to depend on pills and shakes and she doesn’t want to feel hungry all the time. She’s sick of feeling constantly deprived and like she’s having to go without. She wants to feel more in control of her eating. She wants to find another way of dealing with her emotions. She doesn’t understand WHY she always reaches for food when she is stressed or upset.
She is tired of feeling like a failure.
She is tired of having to put on that brave face.
She is ready to take action.
